Does the placental position have an impact on the quality of the 4D scan?

Having a placenta on the front wall (anterior) can sometimes make it difficult to obtain clear images as the baby likes to snuggle against it, so scanning these babies towards 28 weeks is recommended, as opposed to when there is a back wall placenta (posterior) it is usually ok to scan at anytime in the recommended window period (28 – 32 weeks). At Sound Radiology, you can elect to have your scans at anytime throughout your pregnancy, but it is our job to try and meet your expectations by scanning at certain times to maximize our chances of great images and video footage!
